The Mullet
Pond

This large water
hole near the west end of Shackleford is a favorite social spot of
the horses. The west-end herds take turns, in the order of dominance
of the herd stallions, and use their time socializing, sipping, and
wading.

This mare,
branded as a means of identification for birth control planned by
the National Park Service, gets a drink from the Mullet Pond.
